As a company, giving back to the community is an essential part of our culture. We recently had the opportunity to participate in an annual fundraiser for Mater Dei High School, a private Catholic school located in Santa Ana, California. The event was a golf tournament exclusively for alumni (and friends), with all funds raised going towards supporting the boys' soccer program at the school. The organizer of the fundraiser was a past employee of our company, which made it even more meaningful for us to participate. In this blog post, we'll share our experience and how we contributed to the success of this event.
Mater Dei High School has been serving students in the Orange County area for over 70 years. It is a community built on a foundation of faith, excellence, and tradition. The school has an excellent academic program and a robust athletics program, which includes a successful soccer team. The annual golf tournament is an opportunity for alumni to come together and support the school's athletic programs.
Our company currently has two Mater Dei alumni (Scott and Geoff), so we were excited to participate in this event. We knew that this would be a great way to support our employees' alma mater while giving back to the community. The event took place at Tustin Ranch Golf Club, a beautiful and challenging course that has hosted numerous prestigious events.
The day started early, with registration beginning at 10:00 am. The golfers had the opportunity to warm up on the driving range before teeing off. The tournament was a shotgun start, which meant that all the players started at different holes at the same time. Our team was made up of employees and friends of the company. We were excited to get out on the course and support the school's soccer program.
Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to meet and interact with many Mater Dei alumni. It was great to see how much the school meant to them and how passionate they were about supporting their alma mater. We also had the chance to network with other businesses in the area who were participating in the event.
The highlight of the day was, of course, the golf. The course was challenging, but we all had a great time. We had a few close calls, but unfortunately, we didn't take home any prizes. However, we were proud to have participated in the event and supported the school's soccer program.
After the tournament, there was a team dinner where we had the opportunity to relax, unwind, and celebrate a successful day. The dinner was a chance for us to socialize with other participants and reflect on the day's events. We were proud to have been a part of this event, and we knew that the funds raised would make a difference in the lives of the students at Mater Dei High School.
In conclusion, participating in the annual fundraiser for Mater Dei High School was an incredibly rewarding experience for our company. We were able to give back to the community while supporting the soccer program at our employees' alma mater. We had a lot of fun playing golf, networking with other businesses, and meeting Mater Dei alumni. It was a great way to strengthen our ties with the community and support a school that has had such a positive impact on the lives of so many students. We look forward to participating in future events and continuing to give back to the community in meaningful ways.
